When Altrad, a leading provider of industrial services, approached us, they wanted something that wasn’t just effective—they wanted something exciting! So, we teamed up to create the Scaffolding Virtual Reality Training programme, an innovative Virtual Reality (VR) experience for scaffolding safety. In association with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), we set out to make training practical, immersive, and, most importantly, fun! 

Let’s face it, the construction industry can be pretty risky—especially when you’re dealing with scaffolding. Traditional training methods have their drawbacks: they can be boring, expensive, and don’t always give trainees a true-to-life experience. Altrad and CITB were on the lookout for a game-changing solution that could offer hands-on learning without the real-life hazards.

Enter our Scaffolding Virtual Reality Training modules: a fully immersive experience where trainees get to hone their scaffolding skills in a virtual world that feels like the real deal. Picture this—you put on a VR headset, and suddenly you’re transported to a construction site, complete with all the challenges scaffolders face every day. You get to practice putting up, inspecting, and taking down scaffolds, all while staying safe and learning at your own speed.

The training includes 4 modules—from basic scaffold assembly to handling unexpected surprises. The 360-degree view makes it feel like you’re really there, helping trainees understand the importance of staying safe at height. Plus, we built in performance analytics and feedback so trainers can easily spot areas for improvement and offer personalised coaching.

By blending cutting-edge VR tech with immersive training content, we’ve delivered a solution that’s not only effective but genuinely exciting. This project shows just how much potential VR has to revolutionise training in construction—making it safer, more engaging, and a lot more fun.
